SPLASH is a sports-based charity program of the American Association for Cancer Support that uses the power of athletic/life-skills programs in international projects to raise cancer awareness and to improve the lives of children globally.

Provide sports-based programs that foster personal, academic, and holistic development, enabling youth to build critical life-skills.


Non-communicable diseases (NCDs) which include over 200 types of cancer, are the leading cause of death worldwide, and on every continent except Africa (although NCDs are projected to exceed all other deaths in Africa, including HIV/AIDS, by 2030). However, less than 3% of global public health funding goes towards preventing NCDs.  In other words, for every cancer death, $3 per year is donated, versus $1,030 per year for every AIDS-related death.  80% of NCDs occur in developing countries, making impoverished communities the most at risk.  SPLASH invariably eliminates risk factors associated with NCDs through sports programs and incorporates cancer awareness life-skills sessions and games aimed to teach how healthy lifestyles can help prevent the onset of cancer.
